I have this assignment for my college math class that has literally taken me months because I keep putting it off.  You just don’t know how much I abhor math.  But I’m determined to buckle down this weekend and get it done.  It is such an obstacle to finishing my degree.  Ugh…

I am finally beginning to smell some Spring scents in the air.  I see more birds coming out now and the sun is actually shining a bit brighter, it seems.  Please come quickly, Spring.  I’m SOOO ready for warmer weather!  Anything that will stop these string of illnesses we’ve had the past few months would be a welcome change!

Sunshine Studio Scraps is having more gorgeous new releases this weekend and they will be on sale, so you don’t want to miss them.  I’ll be back tomorrow to post my layouts with the new products.  Two of my all-time favorite layouts were made this week with the new releases and the SUN collab Lover’s Walk, still on sale for $3.

You certainly don’t want to miss out on this collab!  It’s just the best thing since sliced bread and it’s full of awesome goodies for such a cheap price.  Remember, only $3 for a couple more days!

Well, it’s now official today.  Last night, my husband and I had a long talk about our son’s education and decided it would be best to homeschool him.  Poor thing hasn’t had good school experiences in his life.  He’s in first grade and has been in 4 different schools now.  When we lived in Germany, he was in a fabulous pre-K class for developmental delays (he didn’t talk until he was 3).  Then we moved to Belgium and it all fell apart.  We had put him in the local Belgium school in kindergarten and he was bullied on a regular basis.  Since he only spoke English, he was at a major disadvantage.  I started homeschooling him that December and put him in the American school on base for first grade the next year.  In November, he came home telling me that the teacher had hit him on the head to get his attention.  We pulled him out after they refused to put him in a class where he would get a fair shake and refused to let me sit in on meetings to determine where he would be placed.  So then he went to another Belgian school in the area.  This school is a really good school.  However, there is a child who is an American who continually bullies him.  We’ve talked to his parents (makes it worse that his father is my husband’s boss) and it has continued.  The final straw was when the kid took my son’s coat into the girl’s bathroom and tried to flush it down the toilet, then pushed my son down in the hallway and ran off laughing.

My son is very sweet-natured.  He is not aggressive at all and we’ve had to instruct him to hit back, which I’m not in total agreement on.  That seems to have just made matters worse and I really don’t want my son’s nature to change to aggressiveness.  Plus, he’s still not picking up enough of the language to really improve his reading.  His math is wonderful and he’s doing multiplication, but I fear that his reading will suffer.

So now he’s back with me and I’m instructing him.  I’ve decided to have school certain days of the week.  I’m a former kindergarten/first grade/second grade/third grade teacher….so it works out fairly well with the curriculum.  I’m not concerned over the academics…just the social skills.  He really needs some buddies that I can trust not to be psycho.  For some reason, that is just a hard order to fill here.  :/

Wow, I’ve never seen this much snow in one winter.  And it seems like it’s not just in Europe, but in the States as well.  I just looked out the window and noticed that the ground is covered and huge flakes are still falling.  I guess the kids will wake up with a surprise tomorrow.  James already thinks it’s Christmas time every time he sees snow on the ground.  Wishful thinking, I guess.  :)

Today was new release day over at SUN and I got to work with LDrag Designs’ kit, Love Out Loud.  You can get it on sale right now for 30% off, as well as all the other New Releases…so head over there and check out all the yummy goodies!

This is such a beautiful kit and the colors and elements are so fun to work with.  Speaking of snow, I used one of my pictures from our last snowstorm with this kit in a layout.  Claudia is a bit of a snow bunny now and can’t get enough of it!

Poor Claudia probably isn’t going to get to play in the snow tomorrow since she still has a bad cold and cough.  She’ll just have to watch “Bubba” play through the window.  :(  Of course, James is such an inside kid that he probably won’t even go outside tomorrow.  Maybe I’ll wake up early and go get some pretty snow pictures around the neighborhood.  I could take Claudia in her stroller and bundle her up and it wouldn’t be so bad for her.

Well, I’m off to bed.  Ever have the desire to scrap more but just too dang tired to do it?  I have a bazillion ideas in my head and loads of pictures, but just not enough time in the day to scrap.  Sound familiar?

Ok, Blogger has frustrated me for the last time.  I wanted to try out this new blog site to see how it manages my scrapbooking hobby.  Hopefully, this will be more reliable than Blogger for me.  I’ve decided to keep the design on the simple side.

So, I have a couple of layouts to share that I’ve made.  This one is made with Craft-tastrophic Designs’ kit called Toasted and it went so well with my daughter’s photos I took in November.

This next one is one I made is with Helly’s kit Haunted {By Memories of You} and I changed the color of the coat to make it go better with the kit.  It kind of gave it an old timey feeling, don’t you think?

That’s all for right now.  Claudia is taking her nap and I think I’m about due for one as well.  We’ve all been ill for a week now and it’s so draining trying to take care of the family when you are not well yourself.  Have a great day!
